Work experience
September 01, 2007 – current:
IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute Ltd, Stockholm
Key qualifications: My experience covers a number of different environmentally-related fields. This includes water, wastewater and sludge handling, and recipient abatement technologies. I have further worked with coupled hydrological and biogeochemical process investigations and modelling with engineering analysis, identification and design of environmentally and socioeconomically sustainable scenarios for water management. This includes aspects of aquatic environmental topics with specialisation in aquatic management, river basin management and the Baltic Sea. I also have a strong competence in economic cost-minimization modelling to investigate the implications of various uncertainties for the cost-efficiency of water pollution abatement.
Main activities and responsibilities:
- Research coordinator/ manager for the research and testing facility for wastewater purification Hammarby Sjöstadsverk
Hammarby Sjöstadsverk is a R&D facility and demonstration platform for development and exchange of knowledge and technologies in water treatment and related environmental technology. - Project manager for national and international projects
- Removal of pharmaceutical residues from sewage with ozone and activated carbon
- MembranBioReactor (MBR) pilot studies for Stockholm’s future wastewater treatment
- Reduce greenhouse gas emissions from Swedish wastewater and sewage sludge management
- Increased biogas production from sewage sludge including
- Control and optimization of the deammonification process and mainstream anammox
- Energy and resource management facility: Tomorrow’s wastewater treatment plant – a totally new design concept
- ReUse- Treatment and reuse of wastewater for non-potable purposes
- Supervisor for PhD-students
- Project manager: Life+ – Wave Energized Baltic Aeration Pump
Wave-powered aeration pump will aerate the bottoms of the Baltic Sea to mitigate the problem of oxygen depletion (“hypoxia”). - Knowledge and technology transfer on Swedish cleantech
